Leala Lierman
DHH Guide

Leala grew up in Lake Tahoe until her parents relocated to Reno in 2004. She attended Reno High School, Western Nevada College and University of Nevada, Reno. Leala is congenitally, bilaterally hard of hearing. She uses multiple means of communication including heading aids, spoken and written English (including the assistance of lip/speech-reading) and American Sign Language.  She earned an Associate of Arts and an Associate of Applied Science in Deaf Studies with a focus on ASL/interpreting as well as a Bachelor of Science in Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology. She is currently saving for a Master Degree in Special Education. In the meantime, Leala serves on the Board of Directors for Reno Little Theater, acting as a Chairman for their Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility committee, teaches swimming to local youth and focuses on entrepreneurial endeavors.
