Kelsie lives in Spring Creek, Nevada with her partner, two sons and daughter. She moved to Nevada five years ago, and her advocacy journey began when her daughter was diagnosed with complete bilateral hearing loss as an infant. From early intervention services to attending Total Communication preschool, Kelsie made her daughter's education and access a primary focus. Through navigating IEP meetings, communication approaches, and medical systems, she gained firsthand experience in the challenges and decisions families face.
Kelsie became involved with Nevada Hands & Voices as a parent seeking support and connection. With the encouragement and guidance of the Hands & Voices community, her family found confidence in their journey. She now serves as the Northeast Nevada Parent Guide, supporting families across rural communities. Kelsie is passionate about walking alongside parents, helping them feel informed, empowered and supported as they advocate for their children. She believes raising a Deaf or Hard of Hearing child is a journey the whole family takes together and is honored to serve other families throughout Northeast Nevada.
